About Family Scary Stained Glass (CSC83)

Learn to create copper foil stained glass Halloween decorations to hang in a window.

What will you learn on this course?

On this one-day course you will be taught the traditional skills of stained glass to create beautiful decorative Halloween themed ornaments using the copper foiling technique.

You will learn the skills needed to create a finished piece of stained glass, including glass cutting, grinding, copper foiling and finishing. Create a number of small pieces to take home.

This course is perfect for those who want to try out the art of stained glass as a family in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All participants are encouraged to create individual pieces or work together on their designs.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for young people aged 14 to 17 years accompanied by their parents or guardians who are looking for an opportunity to enjoy learning together.

Please note, working with stained glass carries a high element of risk. All participants must have good hand eye coordination and good hand dexterity to work with tools. The class involves the use of very sharp materials, hazardous liquids and hot tools. A full safety briefing will be carried out at the start of the class and participants must not use any equipment without the clear supervision and direction of the tutor.

Age ranges are set carefully to consider key age developments, materials being used and course stimulus. It is very important that age ranges are not too large or across key stages and therefore need to be adhered to.
