
About Sea Creature Lanterns (CSC234)
Inspired by your favourite sea dwelling animal learn how to make a light up paper sea creature such as a jelly fish, a shark or even a sting ray!
What will you learn on this course?
Children will learn how to design and make a 3D sculptural sea creature, using arts and crafts materials and tissue paper.
They will begin the day by designing their animal sea creature and learn how to transform 2D drawings into a 3D structure hanging using arts and crafts materials and translucent tissue paper.
The course includes a battery powered tea light to take home and light up their animal.
This is in an innovative two-day course that will take children on a creative imaginative journey, from 2D drawing to 3D making while gaining an appreciation for sea creatures.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for children aged 8 to 14 years. It is open to all ability levels and does not require any previous experience. We provide a learning support worker and all our staff are DBS checked. Parents are not expected to accompany children on the course.
The course is accessible for children of all abilities who can participate in practical art and craft activities. A parent or carer may assist their child if required but must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible.
Age ranges are set carefully to consider key age developments, materials being used and course stimulus. It is very important that age ranges are not too large or across key stages and therefore need to be adhered to.
Do you need to bring anything?
All course material and equipment are provided. Children should dress appropriately as some visual art workshops can get a bit messy.
Please note that lunch is not provided. Children will need to bring their own lunch to eat on a supervised one-hour break.
