A child is painting a solar system

About Space World (CSC232)

Calling all budding astronauts and space explorers, create your own 3D space world with moveable parts in this 3-day camp.

What will you learn on this course?

Drawing inspiration from our solar system and even a galaxy far, far away, children will learn how to create their own 3D diorama, with little astronauts, rockets, satellites and planets and moveable parts to bring your space world to life.

Learners will gain visual art, design and craft making skills in a range of 2D and 3D techniques, and will use a range of art equipment and materials to gain an understanding of creating artwork through different methods including drawing and sculpture.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for children aged 8 to 14 years. It is open to all ability levels and does not require any previous experience. We provide a learning support worker and all our staff are DBS checked. Parents are not expected to accompany children on the course.

The course is accessible for children of all abilities who can participate in practical art and craft activities. A parent or carer may attend to assist the child if required; carers must book a complimentary ticket if attending to provide support. Please contact us to discuss your specific access needs. The room is wheelchair accessible.

Age ranges are set carefully to consider key age developments, materials being used and course stimulus. It is very important that age ranges are not too large or across key stages and therefore need to be adhered to.

Do you need to bring anything?

All course material and equipment are provided. Children should dress appropriately as some visual art workshops can get a bit messy.

Please note that lunch is not provided. Children will need to bring their own lunch to eat on a supervised one-hour break.

Are there any additional costs?

There are no additional costs for this course.
