What will you learn on this course?

On this course you will be taught the traditional skills of stained glass.

You will learn the skills needed to create a finished piece of stained glass, including glass cutting, grinding, copper foiling and finishing, as well as the option to learn the basics of traditional leading.

You will first complete a starter piece, using the copper foiling technique. You can choose to edge this piece with lead if you wish.

You will then move onto your personal piece. Your tutor will teach you how to translate your ideas into a workable stained-glass pattern, known as a ‘cartoon’.

This piece can be made using the copper foiled method, with or without a lead edging, or if you choose to your tutor will teach you how to make this piece in traditional lead.
