Paul Bartlett
Paul is a trained artist and teacher, having gained an MA/Postgraduate Certificate - fine art painting (Royal Academy Schools, London), Postgraduate Diploma - Art History (UCE), BA Hons - Fine Art (Falmouth) and Further Education and Adult Education Teaching Cert’ (UCE). Paul has thirty years of AE, FE & tertiary teaching/workshop experience.
Paul holds memberships with Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Royal Society of British Artists and Birmingham Printmakers. His work has been exhibited at several mixed exhibitions including: National Portrait Gallery, RA Summer Exhibition, V & A Museum, Mall Gallery London, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, RBSA, Midlands Arts Centre, and New Art Gallery Walsall.
Paul has followed a career mainly as a humble “full-time/part-time” AE tutor and facilitator. Yet along the way, he has been lucky enough to be included in numerous books and win first prize in prestigious competitions for his art work. These include: the ‘Daily Mail NOT the Turner Prize, 2004,’ (which is on a par with ‘The Turner Prize,’ but specifically for figurative painting, and selected from 10,000 entries). At the RBSA: 'The Prize Show’ (twice), 'Open Oils', 'Open Drawing' (twice), 'Members & Associates' (three times). In London the ‘FBA Women on canvas’, ‘RBA Rowney Prize’, ‘Spirit of London,’ ’Royal-Over-Seas-League’ (twice), ‘Stowells Trophy Competition for all art colleges’ and the ‘RA Schools Turner Gold Medal.’
