Poppy Small

Poppy is a Birmingham-based artist working across painting, illustration, and ceramics. Her practice is playful and colourful, exploring animals, crustaceans, pop-culture icons and storytelling through thoughtful colour selection, expressive mark-making, and a sense of fun.

Poppy has had her work exhibited and commissioned by clients such as Moonpig, Birmingham Design Fest and Gallery 1988, and has also created exciting 3D artworks, exhibited as part of MAC's family art trails, ArtBoxes and Birdland.

Her workshops are experimentation-led, encouraging students to play with materials, try new ideas and find their own ways of making. She enjoys creating relaxed, welcoming spaces where there’s no pressure to make things perfect, just plenty of room to be curious and have fun.
