Light Up Fest: Parade
About Light Up Fest: Parade
After last year’s unforgettable premiere that brought communities together to fill Cannon Hill Park with light, movement and joy, we simply couldn’t wait to bring it back.
Light Up Fest is a vibrant, community-driven celebration presented by Autin Dance Theatre, co-commissioned by Midlands Arts Centre and kindly sponsored by Eversheds Sutherland.
Returning on Saturday 21 February 2026, Light Up Fest invites audiences of all ages to gather for a magical winter celebration of creativity, community and light.
The free outdoor parade will gather from 4.30pm outside MAC (park side) and sets off at 5.15pm culminating in a glowing lantern procession through Cannon Hill Park at dusk.
Now in its second edition, the light parade transforms the park into a spectacle of colour and light, as participants walk together carrying handmade lanterns created by local schools, community groups and workshop participants. Along the route, audiences will encounter joyful performance moments that spark connection, wonder and shared celebration.
This year, we’re bringing the light back even brighter — with new performances, more workshops, and even bigger community participation. Whether you’re joining us to create, dance, or simply soak in the glow, Light Up Fest 2026 promises a truly magical experience.
