About Made at MAC: Connected by Thread

Connected by Thread showcases the talents of students and tutors who work with textiles and other craft materials. Work on display has been created by learners on MAC’s 12-week creative courses and short courses, led by a talented team of artist tutors.

MAC’s textile courses offer a huge range of opportunities for learners to create, manipulate and decorate fabrics and textiles. From felting to willow weaving, embroidery to dressmaking, these courses are a unique way to create functional and decorative creative work. This exhibition coincidences with MAC’s showing of the Design Museum's touring exhibition The Offbeat Sari, a major exhibition celebrating the contemporary sari, to further celebrate textile as a form of creative expression.

A rare opportunity to see the talent of our participants and tutors on display.

MAC's exhibitions are generously supported by Arts Council England and players of People's Postcode Lottery.
