About A Life In Tandem + Q&A
A Life In Tandem is a feature documentary, telling the extraordinary true story of Luke Grenfell-Shaw, who was diagnosed with incurable stage 4 cancer aged 24. Given months to live, he sets off on a 20,000 mile cycle from Bristol to Beijing - on a tandem. Yet before this, in his first round of chemotherapy, he loses his brother John in a climbing accident.
He leaves his old life crumbling behind him as he cycles with over 800 people across the world - from the Indian schoolboy who'd had cancer as a child to the Ukrainian pastor in the last days of peace in Mariupol. During this journey Luke rebuilds his strained relationship with his Mum and shows the world that even with cancer, anything is possible.
The screening will be followed by a live onstage Q&A with protagonist Luke Grenfell-Shaw and director Mike Rumsey.
