About April X

Bax (Connor Storrie) is an overconfident hustler in a near-future city in Eastern Europe, barely making rent by stealing artificial body parts to be fenced on the black market. He shares a flat with his beautiful twin sister, April (Lilly Krug), who has a unique ability to record her dreams in digital format, making her a target of both high-tech corporations and the criminal underworld. When April goes missing, Bax dedicates his life to tracking her down through his network of unseemly contacts. As his obsessive search gets more desperate, Bax keeps seeing glimpses of April all over town, but she doesn't seem to recognize him. Is he getting closer to the sinister truth or slowly losing his sanity?

Director Michel K. Parandi portrays the dystopian side of today's culture of hyper-surveillance, with omnipresent drones stalking the characters overhead. Filmed on location in Bucharest, April X is a fast-paced paranoid film noir, using lurid, neon-lit streetscapes to evoke the fractured nature of Bax's mind and the enigmatic nature of human memory.
