About BFI LFF 2026: La Bola Negra

La Bola Negra tells the story of three men whose lives are intimately connected through desire, pain and inheritance, across three different eras – 1932, 1937 and 2017. Suffused with desire, grief and hope, this incredible film is a sweeping exploration of memory, inheritance and queer history. A genre-defying queer epic, rooted in the legacy of beloved writer Federico García Lorca, this is majestic and uniquely original filmmaking from Spanish duo Los Javis.

Presented as part of the 70th BFI London Film Festival.
