About BIFF 2026: In Search Of The Sky
World premiered at Toronto Film Festival (TIFF) this stunningly photographed tale of faith and familial obligation is set in an impoverished village.
An elderly couple struggles to manage their good-hearted but impulsive young adult son Naran, who lives with a mental disability. He is loathed by the men in the village who say he is a shame to his father’s honour. Without social back-up and under increasing pressure, the parents decide to take the young man to the Maha Kumbh Mela (a giant religious gathering), where miracles may happen.
Includes Descriptive Subtitles and Audio Description.
