About Chai and Chat: Maya Sondhi at The Heath Bookshop

Beginning her acting journey with community drama at Midlands Arts Centre, Birmingham-born talent Maya Sondhi has since appeared in TV series like Silent Witness, Citizen Khan and Line Of Duty. But it’s her screenwriting that’s really boosted Sondhi’s profile in the past few years, specifically as creator of ITV police drama DI Ray, produced by Line of Duty’s Jed Mercurio and now into its second series (with every single episode penned by Sondhi).

Sampad's Chai and Chat
will explore the different facets of her career as well as her love of the second city and how her British-Indian heritage has impacted her writing. We invite you to join us to share how seeing your city and your community on screen affects how you view the stories told about Birmingham and Brummies.

Please note: this event will be taking place at The Heath Bookshop in Kings Heath.
