Two formally dressed people stand at a bar or high table in an elegant, dimly lit venue. The man on the left wears a black tuxedo and looks upward with a serious expression. The woman beside him wears a sparkling teal/emerald sequined dress and glances sideways with a wary look. On the table in front of them are cocktails and a glass vase with pink lilies. Other guests are visible in the blurred background.

About Eagles Of The Republic

In this new political thriller from director Tarik Saleh, a famous actor (Fares Fares) is forced to collaborate with the Egyptian authoritarian regime.

George Fahmy (Fares) lives a charmed, luxurious life as Egypt's most beloved leading man. However, when he's approached by the country's highest authorities to star in a propaganda film about the president's rise to power, the life he knows is threatened if he refuses their call. Drawn into a web of lies, spies and deception of the inner circle of power, George finds himself unable to escape the snare of tyranny in all its forms.

Saleh's film is both a clever political satire and a sobering cautionary tale of the creeping spread of totalitarianism as it overtakes the psyche of a nation.
