About Japan Touring Foundation 2026: She Taught Me Serendipity
University life is far from what Toru imagined. Struggling to find his place, he is cheered only by the antics of his goofy classmate Yamane, his sole friend on campus, and Sacchan, his musically gifted co-worker at the local bathhouse. Everything changes one afternoon when Toru encounters a girl named Hana on campus. Captivated by her appearance and her fearless attitude towards solitude, Toru summons the courage to speak to her. A series of coincidences helps their connection blossom, leading Toru to believe he has found his soulmate at last.
She Taught Me Serendipity sees acclaimed female director Akiko Oku explore new horizons, delivering a beautifully captured, intensely authentic portrayal of contemporary youth and human connection.
