About Kaleidoscope: Missing Believed Wiped

What would the Square Eyes TV Festival be without TV archivists Kaleidoscope showing off their newly discovered rarities? Join Chris Perry and the gang for their annual retrospective of recently found lost television programmes.

9.30am: Opportunity Knocks (1976) 
A lost edition of the show that made stars of previously unknown acts.

10am: Jon Coley Q&A
An expert on colour restoration, Jon Coley talks about his and others restorers’ work on TV series like Pete & Dud, Q5, Doctor Who and Doomwatch.

11am: Timeslip - The Time Of The Ice Box (1970)
An episode of the cult ATV kids’ series which was only held in monochrome, but has now been restored to full colour.

11.30am: Boatman Do Not Tarry (1968)
A lost Ulster TV play that only survives partially. A new documentary explores the play and how attempts have been made to restore it.

12.30pm: Lunch

1pm: The Spooks of Bottle Bay (1993)
The untransmitted pilot to the legendary Carlton series, which will be introduced by its creator Ian Allen and the puppets themselves will be on display.

2pm: Simon Winters’ Wonderland - Part 2
An hour of television presentation, slides and discussion as TV historian Simon Winters explores how the BBC and ITV explored the bits between the shows.

3pm: Dad’s Army – Knights of Madness (1977)
An extended version of a classic episode recently found and re-constructed by Kaleidoscope.

3.45pm: Afternoon tea and early closedown
