About Sentimental Value
Joachim Trier returns to his beloved Oslo and another collaboration with the breakout star of his previous award-winning film The Worst Person In The World.
This time Renate Reinsve plays Nora, whose estranged father, Gustav, comes back into her and her sister’s life shortly after their mother’s death. With Nora now an actress, her filmmaker father asks her to play the lead role of his mother in the new autobiographical film he’s convinced will revive his career. With a nuanced performance from Stellan Skarsgård as Gustav, and Elle Fanning as a bemused Hollywood star who finds herself in the middle of a fictional, and real, unfolding family drama.
