Treading Water + Q&A
EventAbout Treading Water + Q&A
Set against the backdrop of the iconic Manchester skyline, Gino Evans’s impressive feature debut offers a realistic portrait of the realities of contemporary British life.
Following his release from prison, Danny tries to take control of the mental health issues that have shaped his life. However, an encounter with a former flame evolves into tragic obsession. Treading Water looks with compassion and bracing realism at the lack of opportunity afforded to many people in British society. It’s a fascinating portrait of a changing city and evidence of an authentic Northern voice.
The screening will be followed by a live onstage Q&A with director Gino Evans and producer Ben Toye. Hosted by Film Stories editor Simon Brew.
