About Healing Arts: Yoga in the Gallery

Join us for a morning practice set within the beautiful surroundings of Genevieve Robertson's exhibition Under the Orange Sticks of the Sun.

With stunning floor to ceiling artworks, all created with natural materials, this unique setting will encourage us to connect with nature, breath and body in a supportive, nourishing environment.

Focusing on balance, strength, and flexibility, the practice is designed to awaken the body and centre the mind. Variations and modifications are thoughtfully offered throughout, allowing you to move in a way that feels right for you.

This class is for adults aged 18+ years. It is open to students of all levels, including beginners with no previous yoga experience.

You should avoid having a meal during the 2 hours before the class. Please note that this course is not designed for pregnant women. All students should inform the tutor of any ongoing health problems.

Please wear comfortable clothes that allow free movement. You must bring your own yoga mat and a blanket or extra layer of clothing to keep you warm during meditation. A limited supply of mats are available if needed.

At the heart of MAC is a focus on accessibility and inclusion. Please contact us to discuss your specific access needs. The room is wheelchair accessible. A personal assistant or companion must book a complimentary ticket if attending to provide support.

Presented for Healing Arts Birmingham (HABrum) a city-wide initiative demonstrating how the arts can transform health, wellbeing, and social equity. Part of Jameel Arts & Health Lab’s global Healing Arts campaign in collaboration with the World Health Organisation.
