About Introduction to Life Writing (Summer)

Have you always wanted to write about your own life or someone else’s? Or are you already having a go and need some guidance? If so, then this is the course for you.

What will you learn on this course?

In this six-week course we will take a look at published texts in the life writing genre and, feeling inspired will start creating your own writing.

The course will bring fun into creative writing and provide techniques for how to start a story and how to build, develop and improve your writing skills.

The tutor’s approach is focused on building your confidence and finding enjoyment and pleasure in writing, embracing the drafting process.

The course will use memory exercises and published texts to inspire writing, including group work and group discussions.

You will acquire the skills and confidence to jump-start your own creative writing

Who is this course for?

This course is for adults who are beginner/improver level. It is designed to build confidence and help improve your creative writing skills, by drawing inspiration from life experiences, stories, and published text.

The course is accessible for all abilities; however, we suggest speaking to us if the person has a disability that may impact on writing. Carers must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible.

Do you need to bring anything?

We recommend a notebook and pen to start your writing journey.
