What you will learn on this course

On this two-day course, the group will explore working with Jesmonite, a fascinating material used by artists for all manner of creative outcomes.

Eco-friendly and easy to use, this casting resin can be moulded into almost any shape imaginable. We’ll begin by using three different methods for making coasters and candle holders, trying marbled effect, transfer paper and DIY terrazzo chips. Depending on time, you my be able to experiment with other objects.

Perfect for older children who enjoy experimenting with new craft materials. Participants will leave with completed work at the end of the course.

Who is this course for?

This two-day course is suitable for children aged 8 to 14 years old. It is open to all ability levels. We provide a learning support worker and all our staff our DBS checked. Parents are not expected to accompany children on the course.

The course is accessible for children of all abilities who can participate in practical art and craft activities. A parent or carer may assist their child if required but must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible.

Age ranges are set carefully to consider key age developments, materials being used, and course stimulus. It is very important that age ranges are not too large or across key stages and therefore need to be adhered to.

Do you need to bring anything?

All course material and equipment are provided. Participants are asked to bring a plastic bag at the end of the second day to transport work home in.

Please note that lunch is not provided. Children will need to bring their own lunch to eat on a supervised one-hour break.
