Do you have a passion for film, drama, and digital media? Join the Young Filmmakers Club to develop new skills in filmmaking and acting for screen to pursue your own exciting, creative ideas.
What will you learn on this course?
This course will give you an insight into the process, techniques and skills involved in making a film. Each term the content and structure of the course is decided by the group, which sees students generating ideas together and collaboratively working to produce a film.
During the course, you will have the chance to work as a writer, actor, director, and crew member, which enables you to learn and experience a range of filmmaking skills.
The tutor will guide the group through the entire process, from the initial generation of ideas to shooting and editing. There will be a special screening of the work produced on the course for invited family and friends.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for children aged 11-17 years. It is open to all ability levels. We provide a learning support worker and all our staff are DBS checked. Parents are not expected to accompany children on the course.
The course is accessible for children of all abilities who can participate in theatre activities. A parent or carer may assist their child if required but must book a complimentary ticket if attending to provide support. Please contact us to discuss your specific access needs.
Age ranges are set carefully to consider key age developments, materials being used and course stimulus. It is very important that age ranges are not too large or across key stages and therefore need to be adhered to.
Do you need to bring anything?
Please bring a memory stick so that you can take your work home.
