Midlands Arts Centre (MAC) is delighted to announce an extension of its milestone partnership with the Birmingham Assay Office, a company which hallmarks silver, gold and precious metal jewellery.

Initially launched as part of MAC's 60th anniversary celebrations in 2022, this partnership now enters its third year, offering unique added value for course participants and artist tutors.

As part of the collaboration, a custom hallmark has been developed especially for MAC.

The partnership allows MAC to support professional artists and hobbyists alike, ensuring their creations meet industry standards while bearing a distinctive mark of their artistic journey.

MAC has proudly offered thousands of creative courses for people of all ages and abilities since the centre opened in 1962.

From our participants

“I came across these earrings almost a year ago and shared the story with my sons. I found the old photo and the plans that I had saved, and realised that I made them at MAC when I was 17. This awakened a personal memory that brought me so much joy. [My sons] went on to book me onto the same MAC course in 2021. I now have two jewels and two photos 40 years apart, and another lovely memory to hold dear to my heart.”
