Customer Information
Accessibility
MAC is committed to offering a welcoming and accessible environment in which everyone can feel comfortable. See more information on our Access Facilities and Services.
Smoking and Vaping
Smoking and vaping is prohibited across the premises, including inside our building, the Outdoor Theatre and Outdoor Terrace.
CCTV
Please be aware that for the security of our staff and visitors MAC is protected by CCTV. Where we are filming or using photography for promotional purposes, we will make our customers aware by displaying prominent notices on-site.
Food and Drink
MAC is a charity that aims to make arts accessible to people from all walks of life. All profits from our Café, Bar, Shop and hospitality work is reinvested in the charity.
Visitors must not consume your own food and drink on the premises (including our Outdoor Theatre, Outdoor Terrace and Cinema).
Cinema Refreshments
We now allow drinks and snacks that have been purchased at MAC, to be consumed in our Cinema. We’re also keen to keep our environmental impact to a minimum, so we’ll use recyclable or reusable containers wherever possible.
To ensure that the Cinema remains relatively quiet and that disruption is kept to a minimum, we kindly ask you not to bring in your own food, drinks (water is allowed) or food from other shops. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Pets
Please note that pets are not allowed inside our venue. We are, however, happy to provide water for them on our terrace.
Assistance/support dogs are welcome.
Children & Young People
MAC is a popular family venue and we aim to offer a relaxed atmosphere. KILN also offers a wide range of children's meals. We cannot accept responsibility for your children, so we kindly ask parents, carers and guardians to stay with their children at all times, unless they're booked onto a fully-supervised, paid-for activity.
Baby changing
Our baby change rooms have space for buggies. A nappy vending machine is also available on the ground floor.
Access for buggies
MAC's building is serviced by two lifts - one near the Cinema/MAC Bar and the other in KILN Café. Our lifts and ramps make the building fully accessible for everyone moving around with wheels.
We have accessible toilets on every floor of the building which are available to anyone who has any access needs including having a buggy or a group of small children with them. All of our accessible toilets are unisex which means that anyone with a buggy can use the facilities.
Breastfeeding
Please feel comfortable to breastfeed at MAC. If you would prefer privacy, each baby change room (on the ground floor next to KILN Café and near to the main toilets on the lower ground floor) has a chair.
Our Community
For the comfort and safety of everyone, we do not allow scooters, rollerblades, ball games or bicycles in the building.
We also have lots of lovely neighbours, so please keep noise to a minimum when you're leaving the building, especially late at night. Thank you.
Prayer Space
We do not have a currently have dedicated space for prayer at MAC, however, if you need a private space to pray, our staff will always try to find an available room for you. Alternatively, if you feel comfortable praying in a more open/public space, please feel free to use any area of the building which is appropriate.
