About Christy
The feature debut from director Brendan Canty, Christy follows 17-year-old Christy at a crossroads after he’s kicked out of his suburban foster home and moves in with his estranged older brother in Cork’s Northside.
Christy celebrates the power of community through its honest and warm-hearted depiction of finding tribe and a family, and provides a hopeful, humorous and inclusive snapshot of Ireland's contemporary youth: a story that champions universal themes of a search for identity and belonging.
